Documentation

Everything you need to launch your first campaign and understand what Boughtcast checks at each step.

Getting started

  • Create your product by pasting its URL: name, description, logo, color and X handle are filled in from your site.
  • Connect your payment provider (Polar, Dodo Payments or Stripe) with a token that can read orders and create refunds. The token is stored encrypted.
  • Set up a campaign: percentage or fixed amount, cap, post requirements, dates and budget. A product can run several campaigns.
  • Share the campaign link (/c/your-product) in your welcome email, on the receipt or inside your product.

What gets verified

  • The purchase: the buyer gives their order ID or email. We look it up with your provider and check it's paid, not refunded and inside the campaign window.
  • The post: it must be public and include what the campaign asks for (mention, hashtag, link, ad disclosure, keywords, minimum length).
  • Days live: the post is re-checked daily until it reaches the minimum days. If it's deleted earlier, there's no refund.
  • One entry per order and product, even across campaigns.

Review and refund

  • Every entry lands in the Review inbox with the post, the order and the result of each check.
  • When you approve, the partial refund goes out through your own provider to the buyer's original payment method. Money never passes through Boughtcast.
  • Each refund carries an idempotency key: a repeated approval can't pay twice. Budgets and caps apply before it's sent.
  • If the campaign allows it, posts that pass everything are approved automatically once the days are met.

Embed on your site

  • Paste this snippet wherever you want the claim form. You'll find it with your product filled in under Settings → Developer.
<script src="https://boughtcast.com/embed/claim.js" data-project="your-product" async></script>

For buyers

  • No account needed. Your order or email plus the link to your post is enough.
  • You get a private link that shows every step until your refund. Don't share it.
